We caught a fawn this morning at the ranch! At this time each year, they look for newborn fawns, catch them, tag their ears and freeze brand them so that they can easily track and study them as they grow over the years. The freeze brand doesn't really hurt them, it just makes the hair always grow white in that spot. This one was marked "X5"... a male. Maybe someday it'll be Justice's first big buck! Some border patrol men even stopped by to watch. Afterwards we put him right back where we found him so the mama could come back and take care of him.
